3 Post-Workout Smoothies

Smoothies are a great way to get your fruits, vegetables, and protein in. If you're looking for something new to try on your next workout day, these three smoothie recipes will make sure that you're hitting every part of your body with healthy goodness.

Green Energy Smoothie

Ingredients:
  • 1 Banana, peeled and cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 Cup of packed spinach leaves
  • 1 Cup of sliced apples (about 3 medium apples)
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice (or lime or orange juice)
  • 1/2 cup almond milk
Mix those together and you got yourself a healthy smoothie that your body is going to appreciate greatly.

Coconut Water Smoothie

Ingredients:
  • 1 Cup coconut water
  • 1 Banana, sliced or frozen
  • 3/4 Cup strawberries, frozen or fresh
  • 1/4 Cup blueberries, frozen or fresh
A large bowl for mixing the ingredients together when they're ready to be blended together by hand. A glass that can stand upright on its own so it doesn't get knocked over during blending time. The best way I know how to make this smoothie is using my high-powered Vitamix blender set, which works great even without any other attachments like a tamper or whisk attachment.

Peanut Butter Banana Smoothie

Ingredients:
  • 1 Ripe banana
  • 1/3 Cup creamy peanut butter
This will be a very thick smoothie but will be worth it. Peanut butter is a classic smoothie ingredient, and bananas are an excellent source of potassium. This recipe uses both ingredients to make a protein-packed drink that will keep you full through your workout.

You can make these smoothies for your workout routine and have them ready in no time. Start drinking them today.
